If you have taken an installment contract in the past 12 months, the amount you must exceed $25,000, but no more than $50,000, and the amount of line 11a (11b, if any) is less than the amount of line 10, you must complete Part II on page 2 of Form 9465. If you are unable to pay the tax you owe until the original due date, the balance is subject to interest and a monthly late payment penalty. There is also a penalty for failing to file a tax return, so you should file on time, even if you cannot pay your balance. It is always in your best interest to pay the full full as soon as possible in order to minimize the additional costs. You do not need to provide the requested information on a form submitted to the Paperwork Reduction Act, unless the form indicates a valid OMB control number. Books or records relating to a form or its instructions must be kept as long as their contents may become essential in the management of an internal income law. With Direct Pay, you can use the “Search for Payment” feature to view your payment details and status. You can sign up to receive email notifications about your payment. You can also change or cancel your payment up to two business days before the expected payment date. You can make your payments by debit, cheque or payment order, credit card, debit card or any other accepted method of payment. To charge a lower fee, you can set up a takeover bid and/or agree to make your payments by debit.
