The labour court can therefore rule on both the application of solidarity actions and on the various elements of the collective agreement requirement, such as the limitations of wages, leave and pensions. The sensitive issue was the duration of the collective agreement, which will be increased to two years by employers and unions to three years. They agreed to a two-and-a-half-year term, retroactive from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2014. As far as coverage of negotiations is concerned, the agreement in the construction sector is one of the oldest sectoral agreements in Cyprus. It has about 40,000 workers, of whom about 25,000 are unionized. However, according to mlSI`s Ministry of Labour Relations estimates, coverage of negotiations has been lower since 2008, both at the industry and company levels, while unions have lost a large proportion of their membership. One of the fundamental principles in Denmark is that trade unions have the right to enter into collective agreements with employers and employers` organisations. Unions can take different types of collective action to reach an agreement with an employer. You can also see it as a foreign employer with people who have been deployed to Denmark.

The hourly reserve system was created for the housing sector as part of the 2004-2007 collective agreement. For more information on the legal aspects of the system, see Section 19 of the Housing Sector Collective Agreement entitled “Special Rules – Time Reserves for Leave.” The special allowance to be paid to workers` representatives is increased by 3.4% for the entire contractual period, i.e. until 30 April 2020. In Denmark, there are many examples of trade unions taking union action to reach a collective agreement. This includes Danish and foreign employers.
